QSP-100 $495
Four Port RS-232 PCMCIA Card

QSP-100 Four Port RS-232 PCMCIA Card

The QSP-100 is a four channel RS-232 asynchronous serial adapter PCMCIA card which is PC Card Specification 2.1 compliant. The QSP-100 inserts into one Type II (5 mm) PCMCIA socket and provides four asynchronous RS-232 serial ports. These four serial ports are implemented with16550 UARTs; this will allow the QSP-100 to be used in multitasking environments and for applications involving high data rates. The
QSP-100 is accessed through standard D-9 connectors.

Users may select the particular I/O address space at which the QSP-100 is to be located. The four serial ports of the QSP-100 may be configured in a 32-byte continuous I/O address block. Also, the QSP-100 may be configured at any one interrupt level. An interrupt status register is provided for determining the serial port which was the source of the generated interrupt.

Since the four serial ports must share one hardware interrupt level, an enhanced serial device driver and .INF file are provided for Windows 95. The driver will allow four serial ports to share one hardware interrupt level.

In addition, a PCMCIA Card Services Version 2.1 compliant client driver for DOS is provided which will provide for automatic configuration of the QSP-100 upon each card insertion. This will permit the QSP-100 to be "hot-swapped". The QSP-100 will be automatically configured upon each card insertion. A separate enabler program is provided for the configuration of the QSP-100 for those who wish to run the card without card and socket services installed.
